Our commitments
HUGO's commitment to sustainable development
Reitzel's corporate mission is to be a player in the pickle's ecological and food transition. The 2030 roadmap is built around 3 pillars:

We want this to be translated into concrete projects on the ground, and the French production chain is a good example of this: a remunerative economic model built with the producers, sustainable and local farming that reduces our emissions in the supply chain.
Pioneers in the sustainable cultivation of gherkins
Reitzel promotes and supports the adoption of sustainable practices:
- Using fewer chemical inputs
- Collecting and recycling plastic for mulching
- Crop combinations
- Drip irrigation...
Our aim is to gradually integrate agro-ecological practices into our production chain, in order to contribute to :
- Replenish soil organic matter
- Reduce carbon emissions
- Improve the water cycle
- Restore biodiversity
Since 4 January 2023 we have been proud to be officially awarded the PME+ label. The label for companies committed to people, jobs and the environment!
This label promotes the work and commitment of our teams in developing an ever greener pickle in our two production workshops in the Sarthe and Loir et Cher regions.
Have you heard of the PME+ label?
It's the label for independent French companies on a human scale, with ethical and responsible practices. The PME+ label is awarded after an annual audit by Ecocert environnement, based on a reference system inspired by the ISO 26000 standard.
Proud of our certification, we are leaving even more motivated, with a clear roadmap for taking our sustainable approach even further.
On the way to achieving climate neutrality by 2030.
To reduce carbon emissions, we are exploring innovative and sustainable packaging and transport solutions. We are continually improving our infrastructure and processes at our operational sites.
In 2022, we have launched a comprehensive study of our global group carbon footprint across scopes 1, 2 and 3. The results of the analysis will enable us to optimise our roadmaps to reduce our emissions and achieve our 2030 carbon neutrality targets.
